I have a bunch of current power carving projects that I can work on, so that is what I will be doing for the next while. I do have other projects that I will be throwing into the mix along the way that should be quick to finish, and fun to complete.
There are a number of different ways that I can go with the current power carving projects that I have. I am going to start with the Snowman Plaque. It is that carving that is coming close to the season. Summer is close to an end, and it will be starting to cool off some soon.
With the holiday season upon us shortly it will be nice to give this one to my wife to display as a part of her decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I will then decide what carving I want to do next, but I have found that I have to take it slow. I did some carving on the Snowman Plaque already, and found that it fatigued my entire arm. I carve with the arm I had surgery on, and that has really slowed me down. I cannot carve for long periods of time, and I seem to need a couple of days to recover from carving afterwards.
I suppose that it is to be expected. I am only four months post surgery, and I know that it will probably take a year to completely heal and regain my full strength.
But, the list of current power carving projects I have right now will certainly keep me busy. I will just keep plugging away at it until I have completed all the power carvings I have.
I am also looking forward to carving some scenes and animals in the near future. I have some ideas that I want to work out, and give a try. I am still learning much about power relief carving, and that is good.
