It has been a very long time since I last did anything with this website, and need to post a Carving On Wood Website Update. I promise that I have not disappeared or found other thinks more interesting.
I have had some major shakeups happen with my health. They have very much completely interrupted everything I want to do. I injured my left shoulder in the gym in November of 2016 which took a couple of months to heal, but unbeknownst to me it was not so healed.
I had no warning, when in February of 2017 my shoulder exploded. It was a long process after that to finally get an MRI and even longer to see an orthopedic surgeon. The result was that I tore my rotator cuff, labrum, and bicep tendon. Everything had to be re-attached.
I had surgery on April 7, 2017. It has been a long and difficult road. With the additional nerve problems I have because of my R.S.D., and the extent of the surgery I am just now able to sit down at a computer for very short periods of time.
I will not be able to carve for some time (don’t know how long), but I am planning other woodworking and carving related content for the near future. All this will be based on how I feel. I am not going to rush things. I do not want to start over. I have to take things slow, but hopefully in the next few months things will pick up pace for me.
I have really missed carving and woodworking, but taking a break has also been very good for me. I will share more later. Cheers…
